We believe responsible travel starts with the choices we make when designing an experience.
For Pinpoint Tours, that means looking for ways to reduce unnecessary transport, keep groups small, support local businesses and encourage travellers to experience Cape Town at street level.
Where practical, our experiences incorporate walking and public transport rather than relying entirely on private vehicles. This not only helps reduce the environmental impact of our tours — it also creates a more immersive experience of the city.

Our sustainable practices
- Keep groups small: Smaller groups create a more personal experience while reducing the resources required to operate a tour.
- Walk where practical: Our walking tours are designed around exploring Cape Town on foot wherever possible.
- Use public transport: Where it makes sense for the experience, we incorporate public transport rather than private vehicle transfers.
- Support local businesses: We seek opportunities to include independent, locally owned businesses and encourage guests to spend locally.
- Reduce waste: We use digital information and communication wherever possible and encourage guests to carry reusable water bottles and shopping bags.
- Respect the places we visit: Responsible travel also means considering the people who live and work in the neighbourhoods we explore. We ask guests to be respectful of residents, local businesses, places of worship and community spaces.
Responsible travel is about more than carbon.
Sustainability isn’t only about how we get from one place to another.
It’s also about where our money goes, how we interact with communities and whether the places we visit benefit from tourism.
